ABOUT THE ROLE:
Material Distribution company requires responsible sales associate / customer service oriented individual to assist with counter sales, walk in customers, inbound phone calls and customer service.
In this role, the team member will be responsible for greeting customers, making them feel comfortable and always exhibiting a willingness to the extra for a customer to ensure their needs and expectations have been met.
This role is an entry-level position in the Sales department and is responsible for operational processes and procedures in the sales department.
Each counter salesperson is responsible for maintaining a team approach within the company.
The ideal candidate for this role has strong interpersonal skills, a desire and willingness to read and learn about products and the construction industry, is inquisitive, organized and comfortable multi-tasking.
Day-to-Day
Responsibilities:
Providing excellent service by greeting, approaching, and assisting customers in their purchases in a friendly, courteous, and helpful manner.
Ownership of and responsibility for performing an entry-level range of processing building materials sales consisting of telephone sales and walk-in customers.
Engage with both counter customers and phone customers to fully identify needs, respond to inquiries or questions, and offer timely solutions regarding accounts, products, availability and services offered.
Process orders, quote prices, enter orders into the system and provide order information to customers.
Build relationships with customers, suppliers and manufacturer's representatives.
Provide technical advice, troubleshoot, and helps resolve customers' problems.
Develop knowledge of store and company procedures relating to stock, sales, returns, delivery, invoicing, special orders, receiving, and transfers that enable proper coordination of store services to customer Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
? Minimum of an Associate's Degree or one (1) year relevant work experience.
? Self-motivation and the ability to learn independently ? Good social and verbal communication ? Customer Service Focused ? Ability to effectively read and write ? Basic math skills ? Excellent organizational skills ? Must be able to multi task PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to walk/stand for long durations (duration of shift excluding breaks).
Vision abilities to include close, distance, peripheral, color, and depth differentiation.
Use of hands and fingers for fine manipulation.
